Why I chose this topic
In the beginning of my project, I had researched the Indian Independence Movement for a class Causes of Conflict project. During my time of work and research with this project, I had learned a lot about both my country and the conflict between the British and the Indians. When I studied the actual problems and who caused it, I understood that things like Gandhi not cooperating with the British or illegally collecting salt from the sea was justified in every way possible. Since I had learned an extensive amount from my research, I was highly encouraged to continue my work and learn more about this.
How I conducted my research
Before I started to make a site, make it look nice, and add information, I figured that I would need to focus on at least four main events that took place. However, I later realized that in order for these four events to take place, there must be a leading person or factor behind those events. As a matter of fact, there were, I focused in on Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and General Reginald Dyer. After I found my main people, I found of what they did and why they did it. For, rights and responsibilities part, I came up with a list of rights and then formulated into a paragraph. The same was applied for responsibilities.
How I selected my presentation category and created my project
In September of 2010, my dad was making a website for a small project he wanted to make. I asked him how to make this and he said one thing. HTML. HTML isn’t a hard language to learn, however, there are many minute details perfect in order to master HTML. Weebly made it very easy to make a website. However, I wasn’t provided all the tools necessary in order to make to website some alive. So I used some of my old programing skills to make a photo banner and a timeline. I then created my project by sketching out my designs and then making them the way I liked them on the actual thing.
How my project relates to the theme
My project relates to the NHD theme in several ways. For example, the British had the responsibility to make India a better nation when they first occupied it. However, they failed at the improvement of India as well as treating the Indians like slaves. Now to talk about the rights part of this, because the British were using the Indians, Gandhi and other revolutionists believed that because, the British were treating them unfairly, Indians had the right to have their freedom and had a right to preach what they believed.
